TIP OF THE WEEK:
Do you love sewing with minkie but really dislike the mess it leaves behind on your cutting table, which then gets all over everything else. I've found that if you take a piece of scrap batting and rub it across the cutting table and mat, it picks all that "fuzz" right up. Then the whole thing goes into the trash. You can also use a piece of scrap batting to clean the top of your sewing machine.

"The best kind of sleep
under heaven above,
is under a blanket
handmade with love."
Project Linus had its beginnings in December 1995 after Karen Loucks was inspired to make blankets for her local children's cancer center. Since then, Project Linus has expanded to include children who are seriously ill or traumatized in many ways. To date, over 400 chapters of Project Linus exist nationally, with more than two million blankets donated to children!
Project Linus was named after the adorable security blanket-toting character from the Peanuts© comic strip. Creator Charles Shultz was aware of the efforts of Project Linus and was delighted to have Linus inspire blanket makers to help comfort children in need.
Project Linus is a volunteer non-profit organization.
Our mission is two-fold:
FIRST, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers."
SECOND, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.
Over four thousand children have received blankets from Project Linus Klamath/Lake and Jackson Counties.
Anyone, any age, can help these children. If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact us. It is within your power to make a difference!
